Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash - Harwood

On April 7, 2026, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Southern District officers responded to a collision involving three vehicles on Solomons Island Road (MD Rt. 2) south of Polling House Road. Once on the scene, the Crash Reconstruction Team was requested.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Dodge Challenger was traveling northbound on MD Rt. 2 south of Polling House Road when it struck a Nissan Xterra in the rear. The Nissan was pushed into the southbound lane, where it was struck head-on by a Toyota.
The operator of the Nissan was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The operators of the Dodge and Toyota were transported for treatment of minor injuries. The Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
