Fatal Crash - Edgewater

On February 20, 2026, at 2:05 a.m., officers from the Southern District responded to a single vehicle collision on Solomons Island Road near Poplar Point Road. Upon arrival, the Crash Reconstruction Team was requested due to the operator's injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling south on Solomons Island Road south of East Road when for an unknown reason the vehicle left the roadway into the center median and struck a tree. The operator was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. The Crash Investigation Team will continue to investigate this incident.

Northern District

Commercial Armed Robbery - Brooklyn Park

On February 20, 2026, at approximately 1:10 a.m. Northern District officers respond to the 7-Eleven store located in the 4000 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park for a report of a commercial armed robbery of the business. Preliminary investigation revealed a male suspect entered the business, threatened an employee with a knife and stole items from the store before fleeing. Detectives assigned to the Regional Crimes Unit are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact them at 410-222-4730. Suspect: Black male, 20-30 years old with facial tattoos, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, a blue puffer jacket and black pants.


Northern District

CDS Investigation

Northern District Strategic Patrol Team Detectives began an investigation into an individual distributing crack cocaine in Glen Burnie. During the course of the investigation, probable cause was developed to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 1000 block of Wallace Road in Crownsville. On February 20, 2026, Northern District Strategic Patrol Team Detectives with the assistance from the Northern District Detective Unit, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and the Quick Response Team executed the search warrant at the residence. During the course of the search, detectives recovered approximately 2,136 grams of suspected marijuana, 4.50 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 1.74 grams of suspected fentanyl, $690 in U.S. Currency, a digital scale and two cellular phones. The suspect related to the investigation was on location at the time of the search warrant service and was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
