On December 19, 2025, an Anne Arundel County Police Officer was issued a criminal summons by a Washington County District Court Commissioner after charges were filed by a community member, alleging the officer committed a second-degree assault in May of 2025. The officer, who was off duty and not in uniform at the time of the alleged incident, is identified as Sergeant B. Drabczyk, a 19-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department assigned to the Bureau of Patrol. Sergeant Drabczyk has been administratively suspended with pay pending an investigation by the Office of Professional Standards.
