WHomicide Investigation - Edgewater

On December 11, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Linden Avenue in Edgewater for a report of an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim with apparent trauma to her body. Members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim, identified as 76-year-old Johanna Gibbs, of Edgewater, deceased.
Detectives assigned to the Anne Arundel County Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation. Members of the Forensic Services Evidence Collection Unit responded to process the scene, and the victim’s remains were transported to the Office of the State Medical Examiner for autopsy. Official determination of the cause and manner of death is pending the results of the autopsy.
Homicide detectives identified the boyfriend of Johanna Gibbs, 72-year-old Bruce William Dunham, of Edgewater, as a suspect in this case. Bruce William Dunham was arrested and charged with the murder of Johanna Gibbs. Dunham resided with Gibbs at the residence where the homicide occurred.

Weapons Violation - Glen Burnie

On December 10, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of a motor vehicle crash in the area of Elvaton Road and Hidden Brook Drive. During the investigation, officers learned the driver of one of the involved vehicles had handed a firearm to a female at the scene. The female was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm Glock handgun. Both subjects were arrested and charged.
