Crownsville, MD - On Tuesday, Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman will announce emergency funding for the Anne Arundel County Food Bank that will be used to host food distributions during the month of November in response to the federal shutdown and pause on SNAP benefits.

Despite the October 31 federal court ruling that the Trump Administration must continue to fund SNAP using contingency funds during the federal shutdown, SNAP recipients do not yet know if or when they will receive their benefits, and federal workers and contractors who are not being paid during the federal shutdown are in need of assistance. In response, Anne Arundel County is moving forward with direct food aid to our impacted residents.
