Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash - Lothian

On September 23, 2025, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Southern District officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Route 4 near Route 258 in Lothian involving a motorcycle. The investigation revealed that a Yamaha sport bike was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Route 4 when it struck a Cadillac traveling southbound, head-on. The motorcycle was thrown into the woods and caught fire. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the operator of the motorcycle deceased. His passenger, a 14-year-old female, was flown by Maryland State Police to Johns Hopkins Hospital in critical but stable condition. The driver of the Cadillac was flown to Capital Regional by Maryland State Police as a precaution, where he is listed in stable condition. The Crash Reconstruction team will be handling the investigation.

Northern District

Weapons/CDS Violation - Brooklyn Park

On September 23, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., detectives assigned to the Northern District Strategic Patrol Team conducted a traffic stop on a Silver Infiniti Q50. During the stop, a search based on probable cause was conducted, resulting in the seizure of the following items:

  • Pill bottle containing 73 orange pills (approximately 9.6 grams) of suspected Alprazolam
  • Small baggie containing three pink circular pills (approximately .3 grams) of suspected Oxycodone
  • One black digital scale containing an unidentified residue.
    $483 U.S currency
  • Twenty-six small plastic baggies
  • Black .40 caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun. 40 cal containing 10 live cartridges

The vehicle occupants were arrested and charged.

Robbery (Commercial) - Glen Burnie

On September 24, 2025, at approximately 2:55 a.m., officers responded for a commercial robbery at the Royal Farms located at 7201 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie. The investigation revealed that an unknown male suspect entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash and merchandise from the employee. The suspect fled to an awaiting red SUV, which drove south on B&A Blvd. Officers searched the area but did not locate the vehicle or suspects.
