RSVP Today

As part of our broader America 250 celebration, this gathering offers a unique opportunity for our community to unite, reflect on our nation’s founding values, and participate in a powerful, synchronized moment of civic engagement.

Sharing the Spirit of America

On July 8, 1776, Colonel John Nixon delivered the first public reading of the Declaration in Philadelphia. For colonists, it was the first time they heard the revolutionary promises that would define a new nation.

Today, 250 years later, the Hawai‘i America250 Commission is sponsoring a nationwide effort to bring communities together to hear these words read aloud once more. Our event, supported by the Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area, is part of a larger push to unite residents across Annapolis and Anne Arundel County in this shared historic moment.
