The Central Holding and Processing Center enhances the overall effectiveness and efficiency of local law enforcement agencies by ensuring due process and the needs of the detainees are met in a professional,  timely and safe manner. CHP accepts detainees from any law enforcement agency operating within Anne Arundel County. 

Central Processing

What to Expect

Upon arrival, each individual is processed through the Central Holding and Processing Center (CHP). 

The individual is searched, interviewed, fingerprinted and placed in holding until a Commissioner hearing is scheduled. Should the individual be held, they will continue through to our Jennifer Road Facility where they will be processed, seen by our medical contactors along with classification counselors.
