County Executive Pittman and ACDS Announce $2 Million in Community Support Grants for Local Nonprofits

Competitive awards deliver operational and programmatic funding to 69 community-based organizations meeting health, human service, and educational needs across Anne Arundel County

Annapolis, MD (July 15, 2026) – Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and Arundel Community Development Services, Inc. (ACDS) CEO Erin Karpewicz announced today that 69 local nonprofit organizations will receive a combined total of $2 million in funding through the Anne Arundel County Community Support Grant (CSG) Program.

Funded within the County’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget, these competitive awards provide support to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations serving critical needs throughout the region.

"We grew this program to the $2 million level during COVID because our community-based nonprofit organizations deliver essential services to our residents efficiently and effectively," said County Executive Steuart Pittman. "ACDS and our interagency review committee have done an outstanding job of selecting grantees and monitoring their performance. I hope that this program continues in the future."

"The County Council is deeply committed to fiscal priorities that directly elevate the quality of life for our residents," said County Council Chair Julie Hummer. "By approving this funding in the FY27 budget, we are ensuring that our essential community partners have the steady resources they need to expand their reach and innovate their programming."

The CSG program provides project-specific and programmatic funding aimed at enriching the lives of county residents. The application for the FY27 cycle opened on January 7, 2026 and closed on February 18, 2026. Individual awards range from $15,000 to $50,000 for expenses such as staff salaries, supplies, and administrative overhead.

"This year's grant recipients represent a diverse and incredibly dedicated network of service providers who meet the daily challenges facing our residents," said Erin Karpewicz, CEO of ACDS. "Through a rigorous, competitive application process, we've identified programs that maximize every dollar to deliver meaningful health, housing, and educational outcomes. Partnering with the County allows us to strengthen these grassroots services across all our communities."

While the application cycle for this fiscal year has passed, local nonprofits are encouraged to begin preparing for the FY2028 application, which is anticipated to open in early January 2027.
