Annapolis, MD (January 26, 2026) Due to inclement weather and to allow crews additional time to clear snow and ice, Anne Arundel County government buildings and offices will be closed to the public on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Telework policies are in effect and telework-eligible employees should work remotely. Emergency and essential employees must report for work at their usual times.
Curbside collection will not occur tomorrow, and there will be temporary changes to trash and recycling collections this week. The following schedule is in effect, weather permitting.
- MONDAY customers will have a Wednesday collection
- TUESDAY customers will have a Thursday collection
- THURSDAY customers will have a Friday collection
- FRIDAY customers will have a Saturday collection
Anne Arundel County Public Library locations will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. All senior activity centers will be closed on Tuesday, January 27 and Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Per department policy, when Anne Arundel County Public Schools are delayed or closed due to inclement weather, all senior activity centers will also be delayed or closed. Lunch will not be served at any senior activity center or congregate site. Senior Center Plus is canceled as well.
Residents are encouraged to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel. For those who must travel, please ensure your vehicle is winter-ready, take it slow, and do not crowd the plow. Untreated surfaces, including stairs and walkways, may present slip hazards.
