This past fall, crews from our stations 17 and 23 responded to a call for a child that was struck by a vehicle. After she sustained major injuries, our crews worked hard to treat and stabilize her. They then transported the patient to the care of Maryland state police. The Maryland state police - aviation command then transported her to a trauma hospital via helicopter. The patient has made a great recovery and is now back to dancing and doing gymnastics. On August 13, councilwoman Amanda fielder - county council district 5 acknowledged the efforts of our firefighters and paramedics with a citation.
