I spent the afternoon with a Severna Park legend, recognizing local businesses, awarded with her family name. For over 40 years the Greater Severna Park & Arnold Chamber of Commerce (GSPACC) has nominated small businesses for the annual statewide Small Business Association Awards. When the SBA decided not to hold the awards this year, the GSPACC decided the show would go on with their own local awards,named in recognition of Chamber of Commerce founder, Walter Winkelmyer.
Betty Winkelmeyer Wells has continued the relationship building among businesses and residents that has carried her father’s legacy for decades. I was honored to sit with her, and local historian Scott Jay, for this inaugural event, and celebrate all of the award recipients.
