The Anne Arundel County Council designated April 30, 2026, as National Therapy Animal Day via Resolution No. 7-26 to honor therapy animals and their handlers. Three canine friends named Murphy, Charlotte, and Tucker were in the council chambers. Therapy animals provide much-needed comfort and support to people at their most trying moments, such as during end-of-life care for a terminally ill person, or by being at a child's side in a courtroom. National Therapy Animal day is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the amazing work of therapy animals in communities across the country and around the world.
