I had the pleasure of spending a wonderful evening supporting three local organizations that help make our community a better place by serving the needs of area residents and beyond. The second annual Better Together event was started by David and Dawn Orso in an effort to help raise awareness and funds for the award recipients of the year.
This year’s honorees were:
- Severna Park Community Center - highlighting the opportunities they provide to people of all ages, abilities and those with developmental disabilities.
- Bello Machre (which means Home of My Heart in Galic), who provides a safe and loving home or day care for those living with developmental disabilities.
- Boomers - supporting families who have a loved one living with autism, with technology to help keep them safe and located quickly, if they are separated from loved ones.
