Wildlife Concerns
Unless wildlife is confined inside a home or business or is confined and has had direct pet or human contact. Anne Arundel Arundel County Animal Services does not provide nuisance wildlife trapping or pickup services. However; the Maryland Department of Natural Resources provides a list that is searchable by county of individuals or wildlife contractors licensed by the Wildlife & Heritage Service to handle wildlife complaints, as well as a toll-free information number:

Please Note: Anne Arundel County Animal Services will only respond to reports of wildlife confined inside of homes and businesses. Animal Services will not remove wildlife in out buildings, examples: sheds, detached garages, barns etc.
Borrow a Humane Trap
Anne Arundel County only allows for trapping of non-wildlife animals in violation of Anne Arundel County laws. Animal Services does not loan traps for wildlife. Exceptions will be made for wildlife inside a home or wildlife involved in bites to people or pets. However, if trapping outdoors you must first obtain a permit number through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources at 1-877-463-6497. Animal Services will not lend out traps for trapping wildlife outdoors.
Community cats, by their mere presence, are not in violation of Anne Arundel County laws (see There is an eartipped cat in my community what does that mean?) see Anne Arundel Country Code 12-4-101 definitions.
Humane animal traps for community cats are available from Animal Services free of charge. You must be an Anne Arundel County resident. The trap may be used for two weeks and must be set inside Anne Arundel County's borders. Anne Arundel County Animal Services has limited traps available and may not always have one available for loan. If interested in a trap you may contact our receiving department 410-222-3895 during regular business hours Tuesday through Saturday.
Traps may be set on Monday beginning at 8:00 a.m. through Friday until 4:00 p.m. Traps may not be set on weekends or holidays. Traps must be monitored several times per day.
Important: Trapped non-wildlife animals shall not be touched or handled once trapped. Animal Services should be contacted immediately for non-wildlife trapped animals. If trapped a wildlife animal contact Department of Natural Resources 1-877-463-6497.
