Veterans Court

Veterans Courts is a specialized docket for non-violent Anne Arundel County residents who served in the armed forces prior to becoming involved in the criminal justice system.

About the Program

Anne Arundel County's Veterans Court program began in 2017, and is a collaborative effort between a multitude of agencies. By setting up a system of rewards and consequences, this problem-solving court facilitates access to veteran-specific resources that will reduce the likelihood that participants will reoffend.

The Office of the State’s Attorney is dedicated to upholding the values of this country through the fair administration of justice. The freedoms that we exercise daily, both in and outside of a courtroom, are made possible by the men and women who volunteer to serve as members of our armed forces.

For that reason, this office is proud to participate in a program that recognizes the unique circumstances under which veterans become involved in the criminal justice system, and seeks to connect them with the resources they earned through their service to our nation.
