Meeting Announcement
A public meeting has been scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026 in Harvest Hall at Kinder Farm Park to discuss plans to construct a new water transmission main to move water from the Glen Burnie Low Pressure Zone on the east side of the County to the Glen Burnie High Pressure and Airport Square zones on the west side. The project is planned in multiple phases with the proposed work for this phase occurring between the Old Mill Elevated Water Storage tank (EWST) and the Dorsey Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
About the Project
The new main will provide better system reliability, growth and resiliency. Construction is tentatively slated to begin in 2028 and last until 2032. Work hours would be 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays. There will be single lane closures during construction with flaggers present to guide motorists through the area. There also could be temporary road closures in a couple locations, and detours would be set up.
