The Nutrition Site Aide is a part-time position employed by the Department of Aging & Disabilities’ Senior Nutrition Program where the mission is to promote meal programs and provide nutrition education to Anne Arundel County’s older adult population.  

Nutrition Site Aides are located across various senior centers and residential complexes throughout the county. Current locations with vacant positions, but not limited to, are:

  • Arnold Senior Center (44 Church Rd, Arnold)
  • College Parkway 
  • Glenwood
  • Morris Hill

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 1pm

The position job main duties include:

  • Serve daily meal to registered participants of congregate meal program 
  • Maintain weekly meal reservations: sign-ups, cancellations, standby list  
  • Receive and confirm daily delivery from meal vendor 
  • Daily set-up and break-down of the food serving area(s) and/or dining area(s) 
  • Proper cleaning of kitchen, kitchen equipment, and serving utensils and trays
  • Complete required paperwork such as but not limited to: registrations for new and renewing participants, reservation sheets, supply inventory 
  • Maintain participant records.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings as directed by supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience:

Ability to relate well to a diverse older adult population. 
Working in a senior center, congregate housing facility, or other similar food setting 
Basic computer skills

Requirements:

  • Must be able to follow instruction
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to read and write at a proficiency level; basic math skills
  • Must be willing to learn and execute food safety and sanitary standards
  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods; must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.
