Annapolis, MD (August 28, 2026) - Yesterday evening, County Executive Steuart Pittman opened the 2026 Nina De Angelo Artists Without Limits Art Exhibit. The event was rescheduled from an earlier date, due to conditions caused from a recent storm. The art exhibit will continue to be on display at the Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library from July 27, 2026, through August 30, 2026, and at the Arundel Center from September 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026. The exhibit is also on display online at https://www.acaac.org/event/
The exhibits are free and open to the public. The exhibition features artwork from Anne Arundel County residents of all ages and abilities. Twenty artists have contributed twenty-eight pieces of art to display this year. The opening night reception was held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library in Annapolis, Maryland. The event included the presentation of citations to all of the artists from County Executive Steuart Pittman and the Anne Arundel County Council.
In honor of advocate and artist Nina De Angelo, the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, the Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues (CODI), and the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County officially renamed the Artists Without Limits Exhibit to the Nina De Angelo Artists Without Limits Exhibit, in 2024. Nina, a four-time exhibit participant, was an invisible disabilities and rare disease advocate who combined art with advocacy to bring awareness to the challenges she and others faced. Her portrait Haitian Wedding Day was proudly used to create the new logo for the exhibit. This lasting tribute in honor of Nina is proof that one person advocating for change can change the world.
"The theme of this year's exhibit, Art Beyond Barriers, reminds us that by creating space for everyone to contribute, we all benefit. I'm grateful to the artists for sharing their masterpieces and talent with us," said County Executive Steuart Pittman.
The exhibit is presented by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, the Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues (CODI), and the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County. "This marks our twelfth year partnering with the Commission on Disability Issues for this incredible art exhibit," said April Nyman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Arts Council. "As jurors, we were consistently impressed by the caliber of the artwork. This event truly gets better every year, and we're thrilled to provide such vital exposure to these talented artists."
