Annapolis, MD - Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman, CRRC Chair Dr. Shawn Ashworth, and Arundel Community Development Services Inc. (ACDS) CEO Erin Karpewicz will announce that 53 local nonprofit organizations will receive a combined total of $3.3 million in grants from the Anne Arundel County Community Reinvestment and Repair Commission (CRRC).
Funded using a portion of the sales tax generated by adult-use recreational cannabis sales, these competitive grants support community-based initiatives benefitting low-to-moderate income households and residents in disproportionately impacted areas from the war on drugs. To be eligible and selected, grant applicants must have programs or projects within the CRRC’s priority areas of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services; Education, Youth Enrichment, and After-School Activities; Housing and Homeless Prevention Services; and Workforce Development and Employment Training.
County Executive Pittman and ACDS will formally present the awards to the recipients during a special awards event on Monday, August 24, 2026.
