Leadership Anne Arundel

Leadership Anne Arundel (LAA) was incorporated in March 1993 to form a hub of leadership and support the next generation of leaders in Anne Arundel County. LAA gathers community leaders from diverse backgrounds around the county to provide them with skills, networks, and resources to flourish in their roles. LAA seeks to highlight the accomplishments of regional leaders and encourage greater understanding of local issues, while monitoring industry trends and expanding program offerings to keep them relevant and up-to-date with current demand.

LAA currently offers two core programs: the Flagship Program and the Neighborhood Leadership Academy (NLA). Flagship runs from September through June, selecting approximately 45-50 participants annually. This program focuses on civic information and leadership development, and is composed of representatives from a variety of backgrounds across Anne Arundel County. NLA targets current and emerging grassroots leaders in local neighborhoods. This program runs from January through June and provides leaders with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods.

LAA’s staff consists of President and CEO, Kris Valerio Shock; Operations and Membership Manager, Kesha Weldon; Director of Programs & Events, Pam Godfrey; and Communications Manager, Juliana Cianchetta. LAA can be found online on Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Events and updates can be found on their Community Calendar and the News tab on their website.
