Walk the Walk Foundation (WTWF) is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting our community. Their mission is to bless children in need by empowering individuals to serve through their time, talents, and treasures. Their vision is to use the foundation’s resources to create a cycle of giving, where their outreach inspires those on the giving and receiving end to lend a hand to others. Their programs are in the following areas: Backpacks for Kids, Christmas for Children, and Diapers for Babies.
For their Backpacks for Kids program, they will purchase school supplies upfront and in bulk, and invite you to come and join them on their trailer to fill their backpacks. They will travel around to communities, churches, offices, schools, or where you and your friends could fill a backpack or two for a $30 donation. The $30 covers the cost of one backpack along with all the necessary school supplies.
For their Christmas for Children program, they receive children's names from the Department of Social Services, or from an organization that provides social services. The parents, or foster-care providers, fill out forms so the WTWF will be informed of the children’s needs or desires. The WTWF also provides each family with a bag filled with books for each child to share the true meaning of Christmas. People could also choose to sponsor a child/family, buy a bike and helmet, give a monetary donation, or purchase a book with this program.
Their Diapers for Babies program supports local families by providing essential diaper supplies through their community partners. They collect diaper donations and also use donated funds to purchase diapers at a discounted rate through the National Diaper Bank Network. After organizing and repackaging the diapers into bundles of 25, they distribute them to local non-profits, food pantries, baby pantries, and shelters, who then ensure they reach families in need.
