It is our pleasure to introduce the Nonprofit Center’s 2025 summer interns; Juliet Drew, Conor Hannan, and Shelen Savarese!  The nine-week program provides opportunities for undergraduate students to gain practical work experience, learn about community needs and the county and nonprofit programs that work to address them, and to complete a project that benefits the NPC or the nonprofit sector as a whole. Get to know each of them below.

Juliet Drew is a sophomore at University of Maryland (UMD) at College Park, studying Government & Politics on a Pre-Law track. In addition to maintaining her spot on the Dean's List for the past year, Juliet serves as the Professional Development Chair for UMD’s Chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. She plans to attend law school and become a lawyer, and she hopes to help the Nonprofit Center grow its influence and to support local nonprofits in the best way possible.

Conor Hannan is a freshman at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, majoring in Philosophy, Politics and the Public, and international studies. He’s also working towards minors in German and Economics. He aspires to become a lawyer and work in either contracts or appellate litigation. While here, he plans to research how nonprofits in Anne Arundel County can help close the justice gap.

Shelen Savarese recently graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. She’s preparing to start the masters program in Communications and Advocacy at Towson University, and she’s working towards earning the Certified Nonprofit Professional credential through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. Shelen is particularly interested in practical and real world work that helps address social issues and amplify voices that may often go unheard.

We’re delighted to have them onboard, and we know that they’ll make meaningful contributions in their short time with us. We’re excited to see their talents, ideas, and passion that they’ll bring to several upcoming projects. WELCOME!
