The Department of Aging and Disabilities announces December 2023 Caregiver Educational Workshops

Annapolis, MD (December 5, 2023) - On Thursday, December 7th, at 6:30 p.m., Kim Burton, Aging & Behavioral Health Educator & Consultant will present Caregiver Self-Care. Caregiving can be physically and emotionally exhausting. For family members, caregiving can also lead to additional pressures, such as financial strain, family conflict, and social withdrawal. Over time, caregiver stress can lead to burnout, a condition marked by irritability, fatigue, problems with sleep, weight gain, feelings of helplessness or hopelessness, and social isolation. During this workshop, Kim will help you recognize ways that you can care for yourself, combat the stress of everyday caregiving, and recharge your batteries! The workshop will be held at the North County Office/Hein Building, 7320 Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

You can register for this workshop online at www.aacounty.org/aging or call 410-222-4375 or 410-222-4339. This workshop is presented at no cost to the public through the National Family Caregiver Support Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.
