Timothy Walker
Veterans Affairs Commission

Timothy Walker is a U.S. Army veteran and dedicated public servant with a lifelong commitment to supporting the military and veteran community. He was appointed to the Anne Arundel County Veterans Affairs Commission in recognition of his deep experience in workforce development, veteran advocacy, and community leadership.

Born at the Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Timothy spent his formative years in Salisbury and on military bases where his father served. In the early 1990s, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served with distinction during Operation Just Cause. He trained as an Army Aviation Crew Member specializing in CH-47 Chinook helicopters, gaining valuable leadership and technical skills.

Before his military service, Timothy attended Central State University on a full athletic scholarship as a freshman kicker on the university’s nationally ranked football team. After a sports injury ended his collegiate athletic career, he redirected his energy toward service in the U.S. Army and, later, public service.
Timothy holds a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA in Global Business with a concentration in Systems Management from Salem University, earned in 2012. Today, he serves as a Workforce Development Specialist with the State of Maryland’s Disabled Veteran Outreach Program (DVOP), where for 10 years, he continues to  provides targeted career services to veterans throughout the state.

As a member of the Anne Arundel County Veterans Affairs Commission, Timothy is focused on strengthening outreach, expanding access to vital services, and ensuring that veterans’ voices are represented in county decision-making. His advocacy priorities include employment, housing, healthcare, and education for veterans and their families.

A resident of Maryland, Timothy, has been married to his wife Carrie for over 36 years. Together, they have four daughters and five grandchildren. His strong family values and military background continue to shape his dedication to serving those who have served.
