Pasadena Man Sentenced for February 2025 Domestic Assault Incident

This afternoon in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, Robert Wallace Grim, age 66, of Pasadena was sentenced to 25 years suspend all but 9 years active incarceration in the Division of Correction by Judge Stacy McCormack. The defendant must also serve 5 years of supervised probation upon release. Grim entered a guilty plea to one count of felony first-degree assault on August 28, 2025.

Following the sentencing, State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess commented, “This was not only a terrible assault by the victim’s boyfriend, but what makes this particularly egregious is that he held the injured victim against her will for hours. The defendant has shown no remorse or accountability for his actions. This top-of-the-guidelines sentence addresses the need for significant prison time for protection for the victim.”

On February 4, 2025 at approximately 7:46 pm, officers with the Anne Arundel County Police Department were dispatched to a home in the 7700 block of Queens Park Road in Pasadena in reference to a past assault. The 45 year old victim told officers that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, identified as Robert Wallace Grim on February 3, 2025 at his residence on Fox Court in Pasadena. A verbal argument inside the home turned physical when the defendant used two hands to strangle the victim for approximately three seconds. The defendant then punched the victim in the face and used a wooden bed post to strike the victim multiple times leading to multiple lacerations and bruising all over her body and blackening her eyes. The defendant took the victim’s phone to keep her from calling for help. He held the victim captive in his residence by blocking the door with a ladder until she was able to escape the following day.

The State was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Shane Nolan. The investigation was led by the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
