Annapolis, MD - On July 8, 2026 Governor Wes Moore announced that he has appointed Deputy State’s Attorney Brian Anthony Marsh of the Office of the State’s Attorney for Anne Arundel County to serve as an Associate Judge on the District Court of Maryland. Prior to becoming Deputy State’s Attorney in 2019, he served as an Assistant Attorney General for Maryland in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Mr. Marsh was an Assistant State’s Attorney for over 13 years with the Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City’s State’s Attorney’s Offices in the Special Victims Unit.
Mr. Marsh is a former president of the Anne Arundel County Bar Association and served as an instructor with the National District Attorneys Association and the Maryland State’s Attorneys’ Association where he trained prosecutors from all over the country. Mr. Marsh is the head of the Community Outreach Program at the Office of the State’s Attorney where he provides programs to help educate county residents to protect themselves from fraud and online scams. He is a graduate of the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess commented, “While I am very happy for Brian and the people of Anne Arundel County, his departure from the office is bittersweet as we will lose a great colleague who has served for more than 20 years in our county. Brian was among the many qualified candidates on the short list of nominees and I am proud that a highly respected member of my office was selected to this position. The people of Anne Arundel County are so fortunate as they have just gained a person who will treat those who appear before him with dignity and respect.”
