Gambrills Man Found Guilty in Rape of 12-Year-Old Girl

Annapolis, MD – This afternoon in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, Christopher Steven McGee, age 35 of Gambrills was found guilty of 2nd degree rape with a 12-year-old victim, with whom he had cultivated an ongoing sexual relationship. The Honorable Judge Pamela K. Alban reached her verdict following a three-day bench trial that began on Tuesday, July 29. Judge Alban scheduled sentencing for September 19, 2025 at 1:30pm.

Following the guilty verdict, State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess commented, “This Defendant’s behavior is both shocking and disturbing in how he manipulated a young vulnerable girl to believe that they were in love. It is particularly concerning because he molested another 12-year old girl in Texas. His prison time and registration as a sex offender apparently did not deter him from reoffending. The State will be seeking a significant prison term at his sentencing.”

In December 2023, investigators with the Anne Arundel County Police Department launched a child sex abuse investigation involving Christopher McGee (then age 34) and a 12-year-old female. The Defendant was the victim’s boyfriend’s stepfather. The investigation revealed a pattern of grooming and manipulation by the defendant to convince the child to engage in a relationship with him. Detectives were able to collect physical evidence corroborating the defendant’s behavior, including a photograph of him kissing the child and explicit social media communications.  The detectives were also able to locate a nude photograph of the Defendant in the victim’s possession.

The State was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Sean Fox. Anne Arundel County Police Detective Katerina Brummitt and Child Protective Services conducted the investigation.
