Virtual Meeting (ZOOM)

To meet the requirements of the NPDES MS4 permit, meet pollutant load reductions, and improve stream conditions, a portion of the Marley Creek Old Mill Branch has been identified for stream restoration. The project includes the restoration of approximately 500 linear feet of stream located between Old Mill Road and Old Mill Boulevard.

BWPR staff will present the goals, design, and drawings for the project. The design includes filling the existing eroded channel and construction of stone weirs, pools, and berms. These structures will slow stream flows and spread them onto the floodplain. The four culverts under Old Mill Road will be cleaned out and a trash rack installed to prevent clogging.

The primary goals of this project are to reconnect the stream with the floodplain, reduce sediment and nutrients in the water from streambank erosion, and reduce the sediment and debris entering the Old Mill Road culverts.
