Crownsville, MD (July 20, 2026) - Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and DPW celebrated the completion of the Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park (CHMP) Water Main Replacement (Project P588408) on July 16, a project that modernizes utility systems and supports the CHMP Final Master Plan.
The project involved replacing failing and corroded water mains with new PVC infrastructure, installing fire hydrants, water meters, and backflow devices for each tenant, and improving system redundancy. Originally scheduled for completion in February 2027, the major components are now finished ahead of schedule. These upgrades provide the community with increased water pressure, improved flow, and higher water quality.
“The completion of this project is another step towards creating the Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park,” said County Executive Steuart Pittman. “It’s the kind of smart investment that will serve communities long-term and support the healing the site deserves. This is what happens when the community advocates, and the county works together to deliver.”
