Amanda Horne is a mathematician turned technologist. Due to her military upbringing, she moved around quite a bit, including living in Japan for three years. Amanda is a software engineer with over a decade of experience. Currently, Amanda focuses on emerging technology solutions in cloud-based environments. Before transitioning into engineering, Amanda was a high school mathematics teacher at her alma mater in Richmond, VA. Education has been a pillar of her growth and the learning continues.
Amanda earned a B.S. degree in mathematics from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. She is currently active with her local alumnae chapter. She is interested in mentoring girls in STEM. Her areas of focus on the commission are mentoring and women and girl's empowerment. Amanda enjoys indoor cycling. She lives in District 3 with her husband and daughter.
