Special Events Resource Requirements

Read the information below to determine the required resources and associated fees that will be assessed when applying for a permit to hold a special event in Anne Arundel County.  The resources and fees are dictated by the anticipated crowd size.

All special events are subject to:

  1. The guiding principles of incident management as outlined in the FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) doctrine.

  2. Variations in recommended and/or required resources based on the risk assessment of each event, which includes the type of event, purpose, location, duration, anticipated crowd size, weather conditions, and other safety and/or security factors deemed appropriate by public safety officials.

Any special events greater than 2,500 in a single setting may be subject to unified public safety command and control as the event dictates, which may include costs for any additional on-site personnel
