The Anne Arundel County Fire Department is aware of a video circulating involving one of our off-duty, career firefighters. The behavior depicted does not reflect the values, morals, professionalism or expectations of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department or its members.
The firefighter involved has been relocated from a fire station and placed in an administrative role with limited public contact, pending the outcome of both the ongoing criminal investigation and the department's administrative review.
We want to extend our sincere apologies to the hardworking and professional law enforcement officers involved in this incident. Our department works side by side with the Anne Arundel County Police Department to serve all members of the County and we regret that the actions of one, off-duty, member could in any way tarnish our strong working relationship.
We hold all our members to the highest standards of conduct, on and off duty. While our personnel are human and make mistakes, we are committed to accountability, transparency, and maintaining the public's trust.
