Yesterday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 03:35 a.m., we received a 911 call advising that a two-story, single-family home was on fire at 1112 Crain Hwy N., Glen Burnie, MD. Fire department units were dispatched at 3:38 a.m. and arrived approximately three minutes later. AACoFD units reported significant fire showing upon their arrival. Family members on the scene advised that there was still one occupant inside the home. Firefighters entered the house and located an adult male victim, later identified as Julian Teletor Primero, D.O.B., March 8, 1973, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
It took fire crews approximately 15 minutes to extinguish the fire. Two other family members (an adult female and a pediatric patient) were transported to local hospitals to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Anne Arundel County Fire Investigators responded to the scene and are looking into the origin and cause of the fire. At this time, the cause is believed to be accidental, with the specific cause still under investigation. Smoke detectors were present in the home and alerted the occupants to the fire. It is believed that the male victim went back into the house to rescue family members he thought were still inside.
The American Red Cross, along with the Anne Arundel County Mobile Crisis Team, responded to the scene to provide services to the thirteen other occupants displaced by the fire.
Additionally, three firefighters suffered minor injuries as a result of this fire.
This is the sixth fire fatality in Anne Arundel County in 2025.
