About the Program
The American Kidney Fund fights kidney disease on all fronts as the nation's leading nonprofit dedicated to kidney care. We work on behalf of the 37 million Americans living with kidney disease, and the millions more at risk, with an unmatched scope of programs that support people wherever they are in their fight against kidney disease — from prevention through post-transplant living. Through prevention, disease management, treatment, transplant, clinical research, and advocacy, no kidney organization impacts more lives.
Presented by a trained Kidney Health Coach, Chronic Kidney Disease: What You Need to Know to Prevent It and Treat It, is a 60-minute presentation that provides an overview of chronic kidney disease. Attendees will learn about the causes and symptoms of kidney disease, risk factors for developing kidney disease, and the treatments available to treat kidney disease. Kidney disease is largely preventable, and most people don’t know they have it until it’s too late, and they need dialysis or a transplant to survive. This educational presentation is an excellent starting point for understanding chronic kidney disease and what you can do to prevent and manage it.
