The Anne Arundel County Fire Department, Office of the Fire Marshal, Fire/Arson & Explosives Investigative Bureau (FIB) has arrested a Glen Burnie man following an investigation into a residential fire that occurred on July 21, 2026, in the 1200 block of Aster Drive, Glen Burnie, MD.
Firefighters responded to the 1200 block of Aster Drive at approximately 10:29 p.m. and quickly extinguished the fire. Following a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Fire/Arson & Explosives Investigation Unit, Carmelo Latorre, 64, of Glen Burnie, was arrested on Saturday, July 25, 2026, and charged with:
- Attempted 1st & 2nd Degree Murder
- 1st & 2nd Degree Arson
