Contact Information

Last night, April 21, 2026, at approximately 10:50 p.m., we received a 911 call from an occupant inside the home advising that the home at 300 block of Magothy Beach Road, Pasadena, MD, was on fire. Fire department units were dispatched and arrived within three minutes. AACoFD units reported fire showing from the front of the home. Occupants at the scene advised that there was still one elderly occupant trapped inside the home. Firefighters entered the house and located an adult female victim, later identified as Cindy Hill, D.O.B., April 17, 1963, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

It took fire crews approximately 30 minutes to extinguish the fire. Three other occupants were displaced as a result of the fire. The three occupants were not related to the deceased.

Anne Arundel County Fire Investigators responded to the scene and are looking into the origin and cause of the fire. At this time, the cause is still under investigation, but it is believed to be accidental in nature. Fire Investigators determined smoke detectors were working and alerted the occupants to the fire.

The American Red Cross, along with the Anne Arundel County Mobile Crisis Team, was requested and is working to provide services to assist the other three occupants displaced by the fire.

This is the first fire fatality in Anne Arundel County in 2026.
