Construction work is starting on-site in July 2023. Recreation and Parks held a Public Meeting on June 26, 2023 about the construction process. Information from that meeting is linked below.
Project Description
This project is for design and construction of a renovation of the historic Barracks building into a new Visitor Center for the Park. The rehabilitated building will include exhibit and interpretive spaces, community-use rooms, Park offices and restrooms. The building will be fully-accessible by persons with disabilities

The project is presently in the final stages of design and permitting. The project is expected to commence bidding in Summer 2024 and construction completed in mid-2025.
