About the Commission
On December 16th, 2024 the County Council of Anne Arundel County by request of the County Executive, Steuart Pittman, passed Bill No 94-24 codifying the Anne Arundel County Agriculture Commission "to represent the interests of the county's agricultural industry and to offer guidance and provide assistance to county officials, employees, agencies, boards, and commissions on matters concerning the agricultural industry in Anne Arundel County."
The Commission is comprised of Country residents who are familiar with agricultural and farming issues, with representation from livestock, equine, grain, hay, fruit/viticulture, vegetable, and horticulture operations, both smaller and larger than 50 acres, as well as representatives of Farm Bureau, the Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board, and youth organizations including Future Farmers of America and 4-H. The work of the Commission is supported by 12 ex-officio members from across relevant County departments, organizations and programs.
