Historic Structures & Districts

Preserving our heritage is a vital link to our cultural, educational, aesthetic, inspirational, and economic legacies - all of the things that quite literally make us who we are.

The County Code protects locally significant historic structures and districts. During development review, these properties are evaluated to determine if they retain structural and historic integrity and can still convey historic significance. If the property meets these criteria, the Code requires that they be preserved. New development in historic districts is also subject to review for impacts to the integrity of the district.
