4th & 5th Grade Fire Education

Each year since this program started in January 2002 teachers from classrooms across the county have invited firefighters to deliver our program to elementary students.

Lesson: Risks and Consequences

This program highlights risks and consequences associated with juvenile fire setting by sharing Sean’s Story, a nationally acclaimed documentary. Sean, a convicted juvenile arsonist, shares his story so viewers can witness firsthand the life-long negative impact that fire-setting can have on youth/parents' reputation, community acceptance, family relationships, education, career, financial status, legal liability, incarceration, and injury to self and others. Please plan for 30-45 minutes for this program.  This program is presented by a civilian within the Fire Department and Public Education Specialist.
