Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks offers state-licensed School Age Child Care, Pre-K Child Care and Middle School Teen Group programs located within your neighborhood school or recreation center.

About Us

The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks is pleased to offer state-licensed School Age Child Care (SACC), Pre-K Child Care and Middle School Teen Group (MSTG) programs located within your neighborhood school and/or recreation center facility. Our programs provide the following:

  • safe and supportive environment that promotes social interaction
  • community integration
  • physical development
  • intellectual growth in accordance with the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care and National After School Alliance standards. 

Child Care Programs

  • School Age Child Care (SACC)
    Children in Kindergarten through grade 5 are eligible to attend the elementary school program. Children must be 5 years old by their first day of attendance. Every child must have all of the State mandated forms completed and on file at the center prior to their first day. No one will be allowed to attend the program without this information. SACC is a separate entity from the school therefore any documents (health inventory,custody, etc.) must also be submitted to SACC. There is a maximum capacity for each center.   • Middle School Teen Group (MSTG)
    The after school program operates from end of school until 6:00 p.m. every day that school is in session for students. This program is for children who are entering grades 6, 7, and 8. Every child must have all of the State mandated forms completed and on file at the center prior to their first day. No one will be allowed to attend the program without this information. MSTG is a separate entity from the school therefore any documents (health inventory, custody, etc.) must also be submitted to MSTG. Those children returning to the program will need to verify with the Center Director that their files are completed and up-to-date. Children who attended one of our elementary sites will be able to transfer their file to the middle school. There is a maximum capacity for each center. View more information in the Parent’s Manual.
  • Full-Day and Before-and-After School Pre-K
    Children must be at least 3 years old by their first day of attendance in our 3 year old Pre-K program and children must be at least 4 years old by their first day of attendance in our 4 & 5 year old Pre-K program.
