Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks offers state-licensed Child Care, Child Care Pre-K and Middle School Teen Group programs located within your neighborhood school or recreation center.

About Us

The state-licensed Child Care Pre-K, Child Care and Middle School Teen Group programs provide a

  • safe
  • supportive environment that promotes social interaction
  • community integration
  • physical development
  • intellectual growth in accordance with the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care and National After School Alliance standards. 

Child Care Programs

  • Child Care
    Children in Kindergarten through grade 5 are eligible to attend the elementary school program. Children must be 5 years old by their first day of attendance. Every child must have all of the State mandated forms completed and on file at the center prior to their first day. No one will be allowed to attend the program without this information. SACC is a separate entity from the school therefore any documents (health inventory,custody, etc.) must also be submitted to SACC. There is a maximum capacity for each center.View additional information in the Parent’s Manual.
  • Middle School Teen Group (MSTG)
    The after school program operates from end of school until 6:00 p.m. every day that school is in session for students. This program is for children who are entering grades 6, 7, and 8. Every child must have all of the State mandated forms completed and on file at the center prior to their first day. No one will be allowed to attend the program without this information. MSTG is a separate entity from the school therefore any documents (health inventory, custody, etc.) must also be submitted to MSTG. Those children returning to the program will need to verify with the Center Director that their files are completed and up-to-date. Children who attended one of our elementary sites will be able to transfer their file to the middle school. There is a maximum capacity for each center.   • Parent’s Manual
    The Parent's Manual is made available for all parents. Paper copies of the Parent’s Manual are available upon request, and you will be asked to sign an Acknowledgement of Policies on your child’s first day.
