Overview

In partnership with Anne Arundel County Public Schools & the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks is pleased to announce the ability to continue to provide full day child care programs (7am-6pm) in multiple locations throughout Anne Arundel County for the Fourth Marking Period of the school year.

The child care spaces listed below have been authorized for use for the fourth marking period (4/15/21-6/18/21) for a limited number of children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade, based upon current COVID-19 restrictions.

Spring Child Care will include:

  • Wi-Fi access to complete virtual learning (parents must provide electronic devices and headphones)
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Games
  • Activity Stations
  • STEM & Literacy Projects
  • Outdoor Play will be utilized as we are able (weather dependent; please note that senior centers have outdoor play space but no playground equipment)

All Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks child care programs are licensed under the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care. We will follow all current COVID-19 restrictions as outlined by our licensing body, the Maryland Department of Health, and the Anne Arundel County Health Department. At the time of this web update (4/1/21), the following restrictions are in place for child care in the State of Maryland:
  • All children ages 5 and over are required to wear masks (except when eating)
  • Heightened sanitizing and social distancing will be in place
  • Temperature checks and health screenings are required upon arrival of staff and children
  • Parents may not enter the child care space and must also wear masks at all times
  • We will follow the guidance of the Health Department to close/alert the program as necessary if a child/staff member meets the symptom/exposure criteria to do so. If the program closes due to COVID-19, credits will be issued to parents for any days the program was closed.

How to Register

Please be aware that there is a minimum and maximum registration for each child care center. We have rolled-over registration for our current Third Marking Period families first if they desired to keep their spot. Any remaining spaces are open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis starting April 1, 2021.

Registrations may be completed by:

  1. Creating an Account. The primary account must be completed by an adult over the age of 18. An email address is required to create an account online.

  2. To register for child care, open your account and select the Wait List for the child care center you want for your child.

  3. The Billing & Registration team will reach out to families on the Wait List to assign any remaining spaces.

Once you have been notified that your child has received a space in one of our programs:

  • You must pay for the first marking period program on a bi-weekly basis at the rate of $180.00 per week. Your first payment must be received by the date indicated on your notification of space email.
  • The next step is to review the Required Forms for Admission flier. These forms are mandated as required by the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care. Your child must have these forms completed and on file at the site on their first day. Open the Forms and Publications page to download the required forms.
