We are pleased to offer state-licensed Pre-K, Middle School Teen Group (MSTG) and School Age Child Care (SACC) programs located within many of the schools and one recreation center in Anne Arundel County.
Our programs provide a safe, supportive environment that promotes social interaction, community integration, physical development and intellectual growth in accordance with the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care and National After School Alliance Standards.

School Age Child Care (SACC)

The before school program operates from 7:00 a.m. until the start of the school day (AM snack is included in your fee) and the after school program operates from the end of the school day until 6:00 p.m. every day that school is in session for students. (PM snack is included in your fee).

Child Enrichment Center (CEC) Programs

The CEC program operates 2 to 5 days a week. Paper registration only. Locations at Belle Grove (M/W/F), Carrie Weedon (M-F) and Park (Tu/Th).

Full-Day Preschool (Pre-K) Program

A licensed full-day Pre-K program at the South County Recreation Center. There are several options available for full-time and part-time care for 3, 4 & 5 year olds. There are multiple part-time and full-time care opportunities available.

Middle School Program

A middle school PM program is available at Crofton Middle School. Children in grades 6-8 are eligible to attend the Middle School Teen Group program.

How to Register

Registration for New Participants 
Please be aware that there is a maximum registration for each center and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  • Registrations may be completed by Creating an Account  (Create a primary account with an adult over the age of 18. An email address is required to create an account online) or in person at the Child Care Administrative Office, or mailed to: Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks, Child Care Division, Suite 105, 1 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401
  • Prior to your child’s first day, the Child Care Administrative Office must receive a completed registration.
  • Please be aware that online registration does not complete the registration process. You will immediately receive an email that your online registration was received. You must keep this for your records to verify the date of your registration. 
  • After completing the online registration, the next step is to view the Required Forms for Admission flier. Open the Forms & Publications page to download the required forms. 
  • Your child’s enrollment will not be considered complete until all required forms and the fee have been received by Child Care.

Fees are established on a yearly basis as determined by program costs and divided equally on a monthly basis.
