Voluntary Water Use Restrictions for Crofton, Severn, Jessup, and Maryland City Areas
Annapolis, MD (June 29, 2017) – The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works (DPW) Bureau of Utility Operations is working to repair a 36-inch water main at the Crofton Meadows II Water Treatment Plant and has issued a voluntary restriction on outdoor water use for public water customers in the Crofton, Severn, Jessup, and Maryland City areas.
The voluntary restrictions will be in place until 12 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 and are necessary to ensure that adequate water supply and pressure are available for basic customer services and, most importantly, fire protection.
Until the voluntary restrictions are lifted, public water customers in these areas are asked to limit water usage. Residents are asked to avoid:
- Watering lawns, gardens, plants with a free running hose or sprinkler
- Washing vehicles or equipment at home
- Washing down paved areas, patios, parking areas, sidewalks, or decks
- Fillling or topping off home pools, ornamental fountains, artificial waterfalls, and reflecting pools
The Department of Public Works thanks all customers in advance for their cooperation and patience.
