MD-450 (Ritchie Hwy) & MD-648 (B&A Blvd) south of US-50 to the Naval Academy Bridge, and Greenbury Point Rd
On Sunday August 19th, 2018 from 6:30 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m. motorists should be prepared for traffic delays on MD-450 (Ritchie Hwy) from the Naval Academy Bridge to E. Severn Ridge Rd and along MD-648 (B&A Blvd) in the same area. Access to Greenbury Point and the Naval Support Activity will also be affected.
The traffic delay is related to the Annapolis Striders 43rd anniversary of their 10 mile run. The race has been listed as one of the top ten 10-mile races in the country by Runner’s World Magazine. It is run from the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium through historic Annapolis and over the Severn River before returning to Annapolis.
Route 450 northbound will limited to one northbound lane from the Naval Academy Bridge to East Severn Ridge Rd. The Naval Academy Bridge and MD-648/Greenbury Point Rd will be one lane, metered traffic though access will still be available.
There will be Anne Arundel County Police vehicles present during the event and assisting with traffic control along the route.
During this event, motorists may expect traffic delays along the route as well as the adjacent roadways and should remain alert to runners and spectators along the roadways.
