Senior Activity Centers to Close for the Holidays Centers will close from December 24 through January 2

Annapolis, MD (December 5, 2014) - The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities announces the closure of the 7 senior activity centers for the holidays. The centers will be closed from December 24, 2014 through January 2, 2015. All senior activity centers will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2015 as scheduled.

This is the third year that the centers have been closed during the holidays when attendance and meal participation is traditionally low. Closing the centers saves on transportation and utility costs and allows county staff to address maintenance issues.

Area nutrition sites will remain open and transportation to these sites will be available during this time. Anyone who wishes to have a meal at an alternate site during the closure should call 410-222-0144 to reserve a meal. For the Department's curb-to-curb, donation supported transportation service, call 410-222-4826 (4-VAN.)
