Personal Injury Crash - Lothian
On September 4, 2017 at 7:58 pm officers responded to a crash involving two vehicles on Sands Road at McPumphrey Drive in Lothian. Initial investigation found that a Saturn was traveling northbound on Sands Road when it crossed into the travel lane of a southbound Chevrolet striking it offset head-on. The driver of the Saturn was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma with critical injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet received minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene.
The primary cause of this collision is the Saturn driver failing to drive right of center. Speed is also likely a contributing factor. Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be contributing factors. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and charges, if any, will be after review by the State’s Attorney.

Citizen Robbery / Shooting - Glen Burnie
On September 3, 2017 at 12:27 a.m., officers responded for a citizen robbery at 7415 Ritchie Highway. The adult male victim stated that he arranged to meet an individual in the parking lot to purchase shoes. During the transaction with two males, one of the males grabbed the victim’s money and attempted to flee on foot. When the victim began to chase the suspects, one suspect pulled a handgun and fired one shot towards the victim.
A short time later, the victim realized that he was shot in the torso and contacted police. The victim was transported as a precaution to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Officers searched the area for with the assistance of the police K-9 unit, but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim has since been released from the hospital. This is an ongoing investigation. No additional information is available at this time. Updates will be provided when available.

1) Unknown race male, freckles, short heavy build, dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans
2) Black male, tall, thin build, black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans.
