Pedestrian Crash (Update) - Severn
On October 28th 2017 at approximately 2:10am officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the 7900 block of WB&A Road near Thompson Rd in Severn.
Witnesses reported that the pedestrian had left a ‘house party’ in the 7800 block of WB&A Rd and was walking southbound in the northbound lane with a group of people. The suspect vehicle, believed to be occupied by attendees of the same party, was driving northbound at a high rate of speed and struck the victim who was apparently unable to get out of the vehicle’s path.
The pedestrian was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with critical, life threatening injuries. The driver and vehicle did not remain at the scene. The primary cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Update - November 2, 2017
On November 2, 2017 the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center notified the Anne Arundel County Police Department Traffic Safety Division that Kiersten Emily Wengert-Walko succumbed to her injuries sustained in this hit and run accident.
Contrary to social media post, no suspect(s) are in custody. Traffic investigators are still actively working this case and asking anyone with information to please contact (410) 222-8573 or Crime Stoppers.
