Criminal Investigation Division

Discovered Human Remains - Shady Side

On October 18, 2017 at approximately 1:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Holly Drive and Chesapeake Drive for discovered human remains. Upon arrival officers located skeletal remains on the shore line that had washed ashore.  Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division along with the medical examiner responded and collected the remains. At this time, sex, age, race, and manner of death are unknown and pending autopsy. It is believed that the remains had been in the water for a long period of time. There is no further information at this time. We will continue to update as additional information become available.

Northern District

Firearm Discharge - Brooklyn Park

On October 18, 2017 at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to complaints of gun shots in the area of Edgevale Road and Old Riverside Road in Brooklyn Park. When officers arrived they located gun shell casings in the roadway. An extensive neighborhood canvass was conducted but no victims were located

Eastern District

Citizen Robbery  - Pasadena

On October 18, 2017 at approximately 2:20 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Eliot Road in Pasadena for a citizen robbery.  The adult male victim stated that he had arranged to meet the suspects to sell a 4-wheeler. While showing the suspects the 4 wheeler, one suspect implied he had a gun and threatened to shot the victim while another suspect drove off on the 4-wheeler. The remaining suspects fled in their vehicle.

Several officers, including canine and police helicopter responded and locate the 4-wheeler abandoned in a nearby wooded area. The suspects were not located and the 4-wheeler was returned to the owner. Detectives are currently investigating the incident.

Western District

Departmental Accident  - Jessup

On October 18, 2017 at approximately 6:45 p.m. officers were responding to the 1100 block of Annapolis Road for a subject armed with a gun. While responding to the call, one marked police vehicle rear ended a second police vehicle in the area of Annapolis Road and Race Road. Both officers were transported as a precaution to Maryland Shock Trauma where they were treated and released with no injuries. Officers involved have been with the Anne Arundel County Police department for one and two years.


Southern District

Drug Search Warrant  - Annapolis

On October 18, 2017, at approximately 6:00 a.m., detectives from the Southern District Tactical Patrol Unit executed a search warrant at 2018 Valley Road in Annapolis. As a result, detectives recovered the following:

  • 291 grams of marijuana with a street value of $5,820.00
  • Materialsand equipment to grow marijuana
  • Colt Model Ar-15 A3 .223 cal. rifle
  • Remington Model 1187 Sportsman 20 ga. shotgun
  • Thompson Model T Impact 50 cal. muzzle loader
  • Spikes Tactal Model ST-15 multi cal rifle
  • Thompson Center Model T Impact 50 cal. muzzle loader
  • Savage Arms Model Stevens 200 3008 cal. rifle
  • 7. Thompson Center  Model White Mountain Carbine 50 cal. muzzle loader 
  • Knight Model LK93 50 cal. muzzle loader
  • Ruger Model P85 9mm cal. pistol
  • Remington Model 1187 12 ga. shotgun
  • Marlin Model 983T .22 cal. rifle
  • Marlin Model 882L .22 cal.  rifle

  • 2 counts of firearms related to drug trafficking
